Our Story

Jon Eaton, a graduate of the Roberto-Venn School of Lutherie, opened shop in Boulder in 1981, first as Folk Arts Music and later  changing the name to H.B. Woodsong's. After operating the retail store and lutherie shop for several years, he sold the retail side to focus solely on repair and restoration.

 To handle the demands of local and touring musicians, the staff of craftsmen has grown steadily to include Jon Eaton, Mike Stephens, Matt Bergdorf, Greg Nichols, Mike Davis, Jonathan Scott and Zak Ruska.
